Organization Special session and papers presentation during EMoNT 2016

Project manager, Prof. Dr. Branislav Dragović participated at 6th International Conference "Economics and Management-Based on New Technologies" (EMoNT-2016) which has been held in Vrnjacka Banja (Serbia) from 16 to 19 June 2016 and presented two papers which also were published in Proceeding of Conference. Both papers have been prepared through SUST-MARINA project and considered the following items:

  1. AN OVERVIEW OF THE SUST-MARINA PROJECT written by Branislav Dragović, Vassilis Tselentis, Stratos Papadimitriou, Ernestos Tzannatos, Romeo Meštrović,

  2. AN ANALYSIS OF SPECIFIC COST RATIO IN A PORT QUEUEING SYSTEM written by Romeo Meštrović and Branislav Dragović.

An approach presented in paper no. 1 proved successful for the development of marina capacity. Sustainable marina development requires the strengthening of human resources, and institutional capacities amongst all sectors involved and at several levels. Through logistic system analysis, the researchers in this project have recognized the importance of environmental protection for the long term development of the marina market. Integrated marina planning implies a comprehensive and integrated approach which recognizes that all development sectors and supporting facilities and services are interrelated with each other and with the natural environment and society of the area.

In relation to aforementioned, as a step of implementation of EMS, it is necessary to recognize significant environmental aspects and implications in relation to marina activities as potential points for improvement from the management point of view. After recognizing of significant aspects and implications, it is necessary to define a goals and targets and to develop environmental policy of marina as main tools for improvement of existing performances of marina in relation to the environmental important issues and by that to improve overall management of organization.
