HERIC Project
In the framework of the HERIC project, through the Project Component 3 ("Establishing
a Competitive Research Environment"), Ministry of Science announced second Call for
Collaborative Research and Development Subprojects (CRDS) grants, where Montenegrin
licensed scientific research institutions (universities, research institutes, independent research
bodies, or firms), were invited to apply to submit new proposals aiming to integrate scientific
and professional potential in Montenegro in order to contribute to development of the
knowledge-based society.
HERIC Project is placed within the overarching framework of the Government of
Montenegro’s strategies for European integration in the areas of science and research and its’
Strategy for Higher Education. The HERIC Project development objective is to strengthen
the quality and relevance of higher education and research in Montenegro through reforming
the higher education finance and quality assurance systems and by strengthening research
and development capabilities. The Project activities were planned to be carried out over
a period of five years, from 2012 to 2017, and are financed by a World Bank loan in an
amount of €12 millions.
In this call, HERIC provides grant for the projects: Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics,
CS-ICT, PRODE, LOVCEN and SUST-MARINA.
