Concept and objectives

 

The main research objectives of this project are related to making plans and strategies for

 

getting Blue Flag, Gold Anchor Scheme, ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 9001:2008 certification. 

 

In addition, this project will provide the comprehensive program of young researchers which 

 

will improve their knowledge of the sustainable development in port system like as marina is. 

 

The process is a long-term but is very feasible as well as the requirements for the 

 

implementation thereof. The criteria for obtaining Blue Flag are to be studied and the 

 

instructions and request are to be satisfied. It will also be a good opportunity for marina Bar 

 

to become first marina in Montenegro to reach this goal. 

 

Regarding Blue Flag programme and Gold Anchor implementation, marina must concern 

 

four main areas: environmental education, environmental management, safety and service 

 

facilities and water quality. In accordance with the ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 9001:2008 and 

 

objectives of this project, we distinguish some novel techniques of the project proposal:

 

 

• Oil pollution prevention from the vessels, 

 

• Sewage collection from vessels, 

 

• Electricity supply to the vessels in all commercial berths, 

 

• Investigating noise measurements,

 

• Using biodegradable detergents for vessel washing,

 

• Investigate vessel emission of air pollutants,

 

• The use of alternative energy resources such as photovoltaic and wind energy.

 

 

This project practically proposes to develop approaches and strategies that allow for the 

 

better planning and management of sustainable development that the growing need for 

 

marina sustainability seeks. The idea of the project has not always been an easy task due 

 

to the ignorance of its importance. On the other hand, this project deals with the marina 

 

capacities and conditions to become environmentally familiar. It will include the high level 

 

of knowledge which will serve to young practitioners (researchers) to become experts in this 

 

research field that can be applied in other Montenegrin marinas. It is necessary because it 

 

has to raise the awareness of the stakeholders, city, communities on local and regional level, 

 

academicians, customers, tourists and so on.
