Participation on International Conference MECO 2016 in Bar

Special Session, paper presentation and SUST-MARINA project promotion at MECO 2016 (International Conference "5th Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing" (MECO 2016)) which has been held in Bar - Montenegro, from 12th to 16th June, is organized for the project members from Maritime Faculty, University of Montenegro and AD Marina Bar. First, the organization of Session which chair was SUST-MARINA project manager, Prof. Branislav Dragović, of MECO 2016 has been related to disseminate the results regarding:

  • further promotion of marina Bar sustainable development to achieve higher standards in water quality and environmental management;

  • the recognition of level of noise in marina;

  • define the policy and management for the sustainable use and protection of the marina Bar and coastal environment.

Second, the thematic point of view in relation to the SUST-MARINA project promotion in Bar at MECO 2016 has been realized. It was a good opportunity for all partners’ institutions on the project including almost all project researchers to share ideas and directions for the further work packages’ activities. At the SUST-MARINA project promotion were presented works during realization of the project packages, as well as cost saving and improved management control, compliance with legislation, fair competition, meeting customer expectations, improved environmental performance, raising awareness and motivating personnel, integrating the elements of an Environmental Management System (EMS) and monitoring the quality of management and environmental performance. The importance of the working activities regarding marina sustainability has been described by Prof. Dragović, as well as by other special guests from other universities. Third, it was organized at MECO 2016 the following presentations:

- the paper entitled : written by Tzannatos, E., Paladin, Z., through SUST-MARINA project, and

- the book entitled Marinas - small craft harbors and recreational ports: Sustainable development written through SUST-MARINA project.
