Study visit to Marinas Gouvia Corfu and Lefkas Lefkada in Greece realized by the SUST-MARINA project

The Study visit “Exchanging of experience and knowledge regarding best practices in management of environmental aspects in marinas” were conducted from 25th to 30th August 2015 to Marinas Gouvia Corfu and Lefkas Lefkada in Greece. Project team members (researchers - experts) from Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro (EPA): Ervin Spahić, (Expert in the project SUST-MARINA and Director of EPA), Milena Bataković (Expert in the project SUST-MARINA Senior Advisor in EPA) and Aleksandar Božović (Expert in the project SUST-MARINA and Senior Advisor in EPA) during Study visit exchanged knowledge and experiences with General managers and staff in both marinas about best management standards with special attention to the management of main environmental aspects. The main issues that were discussed during Study visits of both marinas are:
- Introduction on general information of marina Gouvia, implemented management standards and procedures,
- Presentation of the project SUST-MARINA (“Applying and promoting the concept of sustainable development to A.D. Marina Bar”) and possibilities for the improvement,
- Presentation on risk management procedures and Environmental management standards,
- Discussion on energy saving practices and management of waste,
- Practical demonstration of best management practices,
- Management of emissions from vessels in small ports,
- Demonstration of equipment for hazard occasions and so on.
