Young researcher did a study visit to the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Maribor,

Young researcher on the SUST-MARINA project, MSc Maja Škurić, did a study visit at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Kranj, University of Maribor, Slovenia from 4th to 12th and from 17th to 20th March. She spent the time in improvement and specialization of object-oriented programming language Java and simulation software FlexSim, OptQuest and AnyLogic. During her stay at the Laboratory of Cybernetics and Decision Support Systems, she worked on discrete-event and agent-based models with Prof. Dr. Andrej Škraba and Doc. Dr. Davorin Kofjač. Also, she had the opportunity to attend the Java course for object-oriented programming every day during the stay and intensively worked on the model preparation for: vessels moving along designated path inside the water areas in marina; the scheduling problems of equipment in marina; green concept in small ports and marina; optimization problem in the sense of defining multicriteria functions; making concept with Professors regarding the future simulation models of operations in marina. Finally, the study visit served to begin very complex investigation for the publication of project team journal papers. We would like to point out that through SUST-MARINA project, Project Manager has organized that the best student from Maritime Faculty, Zdravko Paladin also attended all above mentioned activities as a support to young researcher MSc Maja Škurić.
